Pediment The gable end and entrance
of a temple, or a low gable over a window or door in Classical architecture.
The pediment is generally ,but not always, triangular. The pediment
generally has a cornice on the bottom and
raking cornices on the slanting sides. The inside of the triangle
is called the tympanum. |
